Friction Welding Technology KUKA RS 12 E + Robot KR30
This welding machine is controlled by a human-like robot with a work area using a handful of high-level performance features including the loading and unloading of parts in a limited time. The friction welding or chafing consists of the joining of two elements of different characteristics, without the addition of external materials. The heat generated by the friction between the two touching surfaces, with one in rotation, causes a superficial plastic deformation. The application of a higher pressure, reaching the softening temperature, allows the interpenetration of the two elements with the effect of a homogeneous weld along the entire contact surface. Working at such high repetitive precision, the machine obtains very smooth and continuous welds.
